iPhone Twitter Client

I have tested many Twitter apps for the iPhone recently, including TweetDeck, Echofon, HootSuite and the official Twitter iPhone app. But none of them even came close to meeting my expectations!

The New iPad

Apple has strangely decided to call the next iPad 'the new iPad'.. At the moment we are unsure as to how they will be referring to it in the future, but it seems like it will just be the iPad 2.1. Compared to the iPad 2 nothing major has changed.

The new features include, iSight - or in non-Apple terms, a 5MP camera and a 1080p (or High Definition) video camera. Although to be honest I doubt many people will be using an iPad to take pictures, let alone film something. The next big new feature is the screen, it is now a Retina screen, or again in English, High Definition. So it will e a great device to watch movies on TW go! The last update is only applicable to US citizens for now, but should be in the UK later this year - it has 4G! This means it will have ultra fast Internet speeds!

The New iPad will be available in Black or White for £399, you can Pre-Order it now, or wait for its release on the 16th March.

iOS 5.1

As well as 'the new iPad' Apple has also released an update to its operating system - iOS 5.1 not much has changed, apart from access to the camera. Personally I don't really like the new positioning of the camera icon on the lock screen, but it will let you access the camera a lot quicker!

All you have to do it slide upwards on the Camera icon. If you tap it the screen does a little bounce, showing the bottom of the shutter button.

Apart from the camera update, for iPhones there has been an update to Siri, it can now understand Japanese! And has learnt a few new tricks.

And for all devices there are many minor bug fixes and battery life improvements. Also Safari is a lot quicker to start up and doesn't open bookmarks if you have no tabs open!

It is available to download now, but jailbreakers should be advised that this could be a hard OS to jailbreak.

What are your thoughts on the update?

Update: There are rumours of a security issue within the OS, where you can apparently swipe up the Camera icon and gain access to the whole phone without knowing the passcode, these rumours are FALSE, 9to5mac's author got his facts wrong, that is why this is now widespread.

iPad 3 Rumours

There are rumours that Apple will be releasing an iPad 3, or iPad 2S on Wednesday 7th March! Many websites have reported that new Apple devices with the rumoured screen size of the iPad 3 have been browsing their sites. So there is a high chance that there will be one very soon!

iPhone 5 Release

The highly anticipated iPhone 5 release is only 3 days away! On the 4th of October at 6PM (UK time) Apple is announcing the iPhone 5, and the new iOS, which is also the 5th version, iOS5. The new iPhone is expected to be wider, thiner and lighter. With a larger screen, and a 8MP camera. There have also been rumors that the Home button will have gesture controls, for those of you that don't know what that means, it is where the button is almost another touch screen and you'll be able to swipe it to control things in a new way.
