Today, many websites including Wikipedia and Reddit have blacked out their site to show the world what the Internet could be like if the SOPA and PIPA bill's pass. Even if you are not situated in the USA (Like me), the Internet will still change and become very different to what you are used to! As many sites will be forced to comply with the American laws if they have a .com domain, which as you know is most of the well known sites.
The bill was created to 'Stop Online Privacy' which is good, as it helps the Film and Music industry and will increase their sales as there will be no illegal alternative ways to obtain their content. But the Act has gone too far, sites like Facebook and Twitter will be forced to manually check each Status Update or Tweet to make sure they comply with the new laws. Which would be almost impossible due to the sheer amount of users on these sites.
